Dr. Schmitt is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, earning his Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree from Temple University in 1992.  His current practice was purchased from Dr. Kem Moser in 2000. 

Dr. Schmitt was born and raised in Columbia, PA.  He then went on to Penn State University, where he received a commission in the US Army Medical Service Corps upon graduation.  He served seven years in the Army at multiple duty stations including in Italy, during which time his interest in dentistry was honed.  Upon satisfying his military commitment, Captain Schmitt enrolled in the Temple Dental School.  Upon graduation he served a one-year General Practice residency in a hospital in York, PA.

Dr. Schmitt and his wife Fancia have three young daughters, and they reside in Landenburg, PA.  Fancia doubles as Office Manager for the practice, so you may get to meet her when you visit.
